Merry Christmas!

It’s almost time for winter holidays, so I’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and best wishes over the new year!

We’ve had a lot of fun here at Eiwa this past month getting into the spirit of the season, first by decorating the English Café at the end of November and then by holding a small Christmas party there last week. The students played “Joy to the World” on handbells at the party – all I can say is that it was more difficult than I had thought!

Stuart and I talked about Christmas on English Day earlier this month, however the main event was of course the school Christmas service on Saturday. We actually held two services, the first for students at the school and the second for parents, graduates, and other interested members of the community.

The message of Christmas – joy, love and peace - came out loud and strong thanks to the wonderful efforts and performance of the choir, brass band and handbell club, as well as the reflective thoughts given by Reverend Ito from Aoyama Gakuin University. Many thanks to all the students who worked so hard to make Saturday’s service a success and a very happy holiday to one and all!
