Fall Events
It’s almost Christmas! Where has the time gone? It seems like just a few days ago that we were celebrating Halloween. The students decorated the English Café, enjoyed working together on a Halloween jigsaw puzzle, and had some fun and treats at a Halloween party.
In early November the students brought fruit to school for a special Thanksgiving service. Afterwards, students went around in groups to more than a dozen different care homes in the city, bringing the fruit and doing some activities with the residents. At Eiwa we visit a number of different facilities for older and younger people three times a year – in spring, in early November and in December.
This past week we celebrated our school’s founding day on November 26. As you may know, Eiwa was founded in 1887 and is the oldest girls’ school in Shizuoka. After a very interesting and inspirational talk in the morning about how we all have different talents and how we should let our talents shine rather than hiding them, a few students in each class got to work making Christmas wreaths. These will be displayed on the classroom doors from next Monday, Dec.1.
Fall is truly a wonderful time of the year. We hope you’ve been enjoying the autumn and wish you all the best in the final month of 2025.
