EIWA DAY
Many thanks to all the grade 5 and 6 students and their families for coming to Eiwa Day this past Saturday, July 18th. It was lovely to meet you all.
Stuart and I were both lucky to be able to give English conversation classes, with Stuart teaching grade 6 girls and my class being for grade 5s. Along with the other teachers, we hope you all enjoyed the classes as much as we did.
Classes are just one part of Eiwa Day. Another main part is the chance to watch and take part in different club activities. The handbell, drama and rhythmic gymnastics clubs all performed for everyone in the chapel at the beginning of the day. The handbell music was so beautiful, the drama presentation very funny, and the rhythmic gymnastics exhibition very energetic and skillful.
After the classes, the students were free to watch and participate in a variety of clubs such as the dance club, home economics, basketball and badminton.

As I walked around the school and saw the students, I was so impressed not only by their talents, but, more importantly, by how kindly and capably they were helping the elementary school girls. Watching the girls at Eiwa, I can see that they are becoming confident young women with the skills to be future leaders. Well done, girls!
