Christmas Preparations

As you can imagine, Christmas is an exciting and important time of the year here at Eiwa. Recently we have held two English events to get into the Christmas spirit. The first was decorating the English Café. Many thanks to the girls who came after school and helped to create a festive holiday atmosphere. We had lots of fun thinking up creative decorating ideas and chatting in English outside the classroom.

The second was making Christmas shortbread cookies. Shortbread cookies are a traditional Scottish biscuit made from butter, sugar and flour. Their rich taste is really lovely. At Christmas we cut them out with cookie cutters in such traditional shapes as stars, bells, angels and trees and decorate them with red and green candied cherries. Over 30 students participated in this activity, including 16 members of the badminton club! (Due to social distancing, the event was held at two different times.)
If you have the chance, why don’t you try to make these Christmas shortbread cookies yourself at home?
