Begin Your Story ～Hillaryさん～
後期より短期留学生のHillaryさんが本校に通っており、中学1年生のクラスで一緒に勉強しています。Hillaryさんのお母様は、Begin Your Storyのコーナーでご紹介した卒業生の田仲希三子さんです。初日は朝の礼拝で挨拶を行い、校内ツアーを行った後、English Cafeで本校のカナダ人、イギリス人の先生と交流しました。先生に「英語を話したかったらいつでも私の所に来てくださいね」と声をかけられ、とても安心した様子でした。
Hillaryさんに自己紹介を書いてもらいました。
My name is Hillary. I was born in Madison, Wisconsin and moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia when I was 2 years old. My mother works at the university there. I attend Redeemer Classical School, a private Christian school near my house. At school, I study Math, Science, Handbells, Bible, Literature, P.E. (Physical Education) and Latin. I like Latin because it is exciting to learn Roman culture and ancient history. I have played the violin since I was three.
In Japan, I learn from a teacher who teaches Baroque music. I recently played a duet with him in a public outdoor event, and it was so exciting! In Literature class, I learned how to write haiku. It is so fun to describe the season and the world with 5-7-5 syllables.
