Taiwan Student Visit
On Friday 13th October, a group of students from Taiwan visited Shizuoka for a special cultural exchange trip. As part of their trip, forty of the students visited our school for a day of lessons.
In the morning, the students from Taiwan attended a music class and practiced singing hymns in Japanese. Then, before and after lunch, they joined special English classes with two groups of senior high schools’ students. In these classes, the students gave presentations about their cultures and talked freely in English. To finish the day, the Taiwanese students took part in a PE class, playing dodgeball with some senior high school students.
This past week, many of the students wrote about these experiences in their English diaries. Many of them wrote about how much they enjoyed the experience and how much they learned from it.
As we continue to move forward in our post-COVID, I hope that our students will have many more chances to meet and interact with students from around the globe.
