Junior High First Grade English Speaking Tests
It’s almost the end of another school year and the students in the first grade of junior high school have been preparing hard for their final speaking test of the year.
So far this year, the students have completed two speaking tests. The first was a self-introduction in English. This was followed by a presentation where the students introduced a person they like or are interested in. For our final test, the students performed a version of the story ‘Grandma Baba’s Warming Ideas.’
The students were put into groups of five and had to practice and prepare for the performance. In doing so, they had to think not only about their English but also about the gestures and props they wanted to use.
To make the performance even more special, we decided to do the test on the stage in our chapel. I was impressed by all of the students. It is not easy to perform a play or show but they all did a great job.
In the second grade of Junior High, the students will have another chance to put on a performance in English at our English Camp. I hope the students are looking forward to it as much as I am.
