Helping those in need
Due to the after-effects of Typhoon Number 15, many houses and businesses in Shizuoka and the surrounding areas are currently damaged or without running water.
In these times of need, it is vital for people to come together and support each other as best as they can. In order to help those in trouble, the students and graduates of Shizuoka Eiwa are doing all they can to provide support to those in need. Yesterday, the graduates of our school prepared some items for our students who live in the Shimizu area which is currently suffering from a water shortage. In addition, the members of the students’ council made an appeal to students and parents to bring items that could be used by those in need to school today.
This morning, when I arrived at school I was shocked to see that the students had brought so many items to school. The items that the students and their families have donated will surely go a long way to helping those in need in Shizuoka.
In times of trouble it is important to reach out and help those in need. I am proud that our students and graduates have much such a big effort to help the people of Shizuoka. I sincerely hope that the water will be restored soon and that people’s lives can go back to normal as soon as possible.
