English Conversation Study Advice
At present, many schools in Japan are not holding lessons in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, Covid-19. Many people may think that it is impossible to study English Conversation during this period but there are a few ways to brush up your English, even if you cannot speak to a native speaker. Today, I will give you three recommendations of websites that you can use to study English Conversation.

The first is Eikaiwa Time Trial (https://www2.nhk.or.jp/gogaku/english/timetrial/). This is not only a website but it is also a radio show that is broadcast daily on NHK radio. The best point about this show is that the programs are available to listen to online after they have been broadcast. The show should be suitable for students from the junior high school third grade level and includes drills and open-ended questions.

The second is ABC News Shower (http://www6.nhk.or.jp/kokusaihoudou/abcns/index.html) I did mention this show last summer but I think it is good to mention it again. This show takes one piece of news from the American broadcaster ABC and breaks down the English to make it easier to understand. The topics are sometimes a little difficult and as such this show would suit students in the second or third grade of senior high or those aiming to pass Eiken two.

The third website is the BBC Learning English website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/features/childrens-stories/therobot) This website has a number of stories for children and the level is a little lower than the other two websites. I think this is a good website for students in the first and second grades of junior high and each story can be read in a few minutes so it doesn’t take too much time.

In addition to these websites, I also recommend listening to English music, watching English TV shows or even watching YouTube in English to help brush up you English listening skills.

I look forward to seeing everyone again very soon.
