カナダ留学だより 9月
9月からカナダのビクトリアに10ヶ月留学している高校2年生から、お便りが届きました。
こんにちは9月からカナダに留学している高校2年生のSakiです！
カナダに来て約1ヶ月が経ちました。この1ヶ月間は慣れないことばかりで苦労したこともたくさんありましたが、今では少しずつ慣れてきました。
今学期に私が取っている授業はフード、アート、英語、心理学です。
どの授業もはじめはついていくのに必死でしたが、カナダ人の友達が優しく話しかけてくれて助けてくれています。
この学校には様々な国から留学生が来ているので色んな国の子と友達になることができ、英語以外にもスペイン語や韓国語などの簡単な言葉を教えてもらい、その国の子とお話しするのもとても楽しいです。
Hello, I'm Saki, a high school sophomore who has been studying abroad in Canada since September. It has already been about a month since I arrived in Canada. This past month was full of unfamiliar things and many difficulties, but now I'm starting to get used to them little by little.
This semester I'm taking Food, Art, English, and Psychology. At first, each subject was hard to keep up with, but Canadian friends kindly started conversations with me and helped me a lot.
Our school has students from many different countries, so l've been able to make friends with people from various backgrounds. I've also learned some simple words in Spanish and Korean from friends, which has made talking with people from those countries even more enjoyable.

放課後や休日は毎日のように友達とご飯やショッピングに出かけています。宿題がある日は図書館やカフェに行って一緒に宿題をやったりもします。
友達やホストファミリーとの時間は今しかないとても大切な時間だと思うので、これからも大切にしていきたいと思います。
After school and on my days off, I go out almost every day with my friends for meals or shopping. When I have homework, I also go to the library or a cafe to work on it together with them. I think the time I spend with friends and my host family is very precious, the kind of time that only comes now, so I want to continue cherishing it in the future.
先週は私のホストファミリーの家で日本人の友達と一緒に日本食を私のファミリーへ振る舞いました。失敗もありましたが、とても美味しくできたのでファミリーも喜んでくれました。私も家ではカナダの家庭料理を食べていますが他の国の食文化を体験するのはとてもおもしろいです。
Last week, I cooked Japanese food for my host family with a Japanese friend at my host family's house. There were a few missteps, but it turned out really delicious, and my family enjoyed it. I also eat Canadian dishes at home, but experiencing food culture from other countries is very interesting.
友達やホストファミリーとの時間は今しかないとても大切な時間だと思うので、これからも大切にしていきたいと思います。

まだまだ英語で言いたいことが伝えられないことも多く大変な時もありますが、この貴重な機会を大切に支えてくれる家族や友達、先生方に感謝して実りあるものにできるよう精一杯頑張ります。
There are still many times when I can't express what I want to say in English, and it's tough, but I'm grateful for the family, friends, and teachers who support me and value this precious opportunity. I'll do my best to make it a rewarding experience.
